Sanford Spinners Announce Crystal Benson as New General Manager

The Sanford Spinners are proud to announce the appointment of Crystal Benson as the team’s new General Manager. A passionate advocate for community, mental health, and youth development, Benson brings a wealth of experience and heart to the organization.

Crystal Benson is a dedicated professional, wife, and mother of six whose life is deeply rooted in service to others. A lifelong sports enthusiast with a particular love for baseball and wrestling, Crystal has long believed in the power of sports to uplift, inspire, and unite communities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Crystal into the Spinners family,” said Albert Anderson, Team Owner. “Her leadership, dedication to youth and mental health, and genuine connection to Sanford make her the perfect person to help guide the next chapter of our team’s journey.”

In addition to her new role with the Spinners, Crystal owns and operates The Healthy Hangout, a community-focused wellness business located in Sanford, NC. She also serves as the Safe School Coordinator at Bragg Street Academy, where her commitment to student safety and emotional well-being shines.

Crystal holds a bachelor’s degree in counseling and mental health and is currently pursuing a master’s in psychology. She is also a certified adult and youth mental health first responder, combining professional expertise with a compassionate, hands-on approach. Her leadership extends to her service on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Council for Exceptional Children, advocating for inclusive and supportive educational environments.

“I’m honored and excited to take on this role with the Sanford Spinners,” said Benson. “This team means a lot to our town, and I’m looking forward to bringing people together through baseball, community outreach, and shared purpose.”

The Sanford Spinners believe Benson’s unique blend of leadership, community connection, and mental health advocacy will be a game-changer—on and off the field.
